She commits to anti racism in every facet of her work and proudly serves the Peoples' Institute for Survival and Beyond as an Undoing Racism Trainer. She commits to sharing decolonizing strategies, methods and tactics not only through theoretical understanding but through her spiritual and cultural practice as a danzante (Aztec Dancer) with Kalpulli Ameyaltonal, practitioner of Native American Church, Curanderimso, and other heritage practices. Rockie is decolonizing her life daily.
A note from Rockie:
"I like for my clients to think of me more as an "Organizational Doula" than a "Consultant". Generally, consultants offer specialized expertise that can support specific, individual parts of the organization/company - operations, programs, finance, etc. Additionally, traditional consultants often refrain from the nitty gritty practicalities of implementation, leaving staff to self-manage new work flows and the additional capacity needed to meet their goals. My experience and background is unconventional and broad, resulting in an intersectional, full-spectrum approach to work. Equity requires that we investigate the various parts of a system to get to the root of undesirable outcomes. I support my clients to understand how their systems interconnect and impact each other while giving them simple, applicable solutions and the hands on support they need to manage the body of work that emerges."
"As a detribalized Indigenous woman of mixed native heritages I am actively embodying decolonization every day. My existence is my resistance. I apply traditional knowledge and teachings to all my work. What I bring is not theoretical, it is practical, accessible and applicable."
